Martin / 028 Brazilian-Adirondack / 1917 / Guitar

Serial number 12905 and in extremely rare original condition. Exceptionally clean vintage guitar with original finish and crack free(!) it's like almost every Martin X braced and built for gut strings, but it handles Low tension strings very well, the original bridge is no doubt shaved a bit, but there is sufficient saddle, a neck reset however is needed in 5 to 10 years. the bar frets have enough meet left to go the long way. This guitar is remarkable, as if it's a few years old, with almost no tear and wear ans structurally exceptional, with no cracks at all and with the original case, no doubt it's been in the case for several years during it's 101 years of age. I wasn't able to detect any overspray - some tiny dings in the finish, and one scratch in the back, but no significant traces of use. Even the fingerboard is very clean. The top is Adirondack red spruce and the back and sides show an amazing quarter-sawn Brazilian Rosewood. Ebony fingerboard and original pyramid bridge, style 28 Zig-zag back strip and herringbone purflings on the top, original engraved tuners. 48mm nut width, 58mm string spacing and 632mm scale (translates as 1 7/8", 2 5/16", 24.9") nice detail is that it includes the original case. A part of the top neck end of the case cover is re-glued)

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
