Martin / D-17M, Mahogany-Spruce, Sunburst / 2013 / Guitar
Martin D-17M (new) Mahogany-Spruce, Sunburst, Case
The new Martin D-17M, is in looks clearly related to the Martin 17 series from the 1930's, but there is something different to it, the mahogany top changed to a Sitka spruce top with 'Matured mahogany' sunburst look. Style 17 is known for bluesie tones, and I can guarantee you it still has that character, but it became a most inspiring dreadnought also, especially because of the change in top material, The typical Sitka/Mahogany guitar produces a warm, dry and crisp tone, and the guitar is a stunning lightweight that is very comfortable to play and hold. Equipped with modern A-frame bracing, a strong and responsive bracing, and now it's reintroduced again with a Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides and beautiful 'mahogany style' sunburst. This guitar is balanced, warm, crisp and woody, but with the clear articulation of a spruce top. It features 45mm neck width, long 645mm scale length, and 56mm string spacing at the bridge. I'm sure the stunning looks with a special dark shaded high gloss top and the overall tonal qualities that are very high, will make this a guitar that will be in great demand. With Case.
A bit of history to the 17 style series: Originally the 17 series was introduced in 1856 and made with Brazilian rosewood and spruce, later on, in 1906 after being out of production for almost 10 years, it transferred to a Mahogany-Spruce guitar, still not suitable for full steel string.. only in 1922, Martin introduces Steel strings on a Guitar, and they did it with the introduction of the all mahogany style 17. So the style 17 was the first guitar suitable for steel strings. In 1961 the all mahogany style 17 was discontinued.

The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Netherlands
ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
