Martin / D-18 / 1945 / Natural / Guitar
Martin D-18, 1945, Serial #92034, vg
Rare example with Adirondack red spruce and ebony rod, tapered bracing. The year 1945 is very special because of this type of bracing creating its own tone. Most come with a Sitka top and only very few with red spruce like this one. Allover very light weight. Tone is exceptional: very clear, crisp and loud, just as a D-18 should sound like, not only because it has been played a lot. Neck reset and refret by Gruhn Guitars, previous treble side and back crack repair with touch up as shown. Plugged hole in heel cap, added heel button. Original finish otherwise and original parts including bridge, bridge plate, tuners, pickguard. Early ‘50s Martin Deluxe Hc in very good shape but with replaced handle.
