There is something magical about D-18's from the 1950ies and especially when they remain in very fine original condition and have been played a lot, as this one has !
The serial number 146845 dates the guitar to 1955.
The headstock has the original tuners with metal buttons.
Straight mahogany neck topped with a RW fretboard with varied-dot inlays . The neck has a very comfortable C profile. The guitar has had a refret and neck reset. Action is low and comfortable.
Original finish.
Spruce top with mahogany back & sides. There are a few repaired top cracks. Extensive honest play wear on top and back.
Tortoise celluloid binding on top and back.
Original tortoise celluloid pickguard
Original RW long saddle bridge and small maple bridge plate
Piezo pick-up installed
Great vintage condition and tone monster !
The guitar travels in a blue Martin case with blue plush interior.
