Martin / D-28 / 1971 / Natural Finish / Guitar
The D-28 is a favorite of ours that’s consistently wonderful year after year in all respects. This was just acquired by us this week from its 1st & only caretaker, Mr.Jay Tuttle from Carmel Indiana. Its stunning Sitka Spruce top is just about perfect. Its striped Indian Rosewood back & sides are simply incredible. Its got most all Martins best features including its Standard X-bracing, Style 28 rosette, its rare & original black pickgard, 25.4″ scale length, Select Hardwood Mahogany neck, Solid Ebony fingerboard w/20 frets and Style 28 inlays w/a 1 11/16″ nut width compensated Bone saddle, Solid Ebony Belly-style bridge & perfect Chrome Enclosed Grover tuners with large buttons. After nearly a century at the helm as the quintessential workhorse of music legends like Hank Williams, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and so many more, Martin’s legendary D-28 has become the centerpiece of the folk and folk rock movements at their pinnacle in the 1950s and 1960s.” says Chris Martin, Chairman and CEO of Martin Guitar. Now 51 years old, this is a magical investment in all respects. Its near perfect neck set has low action. It is truly exceptional having only aged in color & in its overall tone quality. Comes in its original blue molded hard case.
