You buy a restored example that Martin did at the factory !, this D-28 Herringbone had a tough life just prior to returning to Martin in 2007 for a complete restoration, its original Spruce Top was damaged beyond repair so Martin recommended it be replaced with an exact duplicate perfectly replicating its original including every piece of Herringbone, every correct brace all in the exact position as its original, the balance of its original Brazilian Rosewood back, sides & complete fat mahogany neck (complete with its original 1940 Kluson Tuners) were saved & restored back to its birth day, like it’s 1940 all over again, this D-28 now plays absolutely perfectly, it has incredible balance & is begging to be played every minute of every day, this is now ready to be enjoyed at a fraction of an all original example, she was restored by Martin & is now truly near mint & can live the next 77 years w/no regrets & cash left in your pocket for your next dream !, comes with a new Martin hard case.
