Martin / D18 / 1948 / Guitar

This is a fantastic original 1948 Martin D18. This is, as you would expect, a great sounding guitar with a colorful and beautifully dry, vintage character including that warm woody tone that you only find in an old Martin D18. A perfect Bluegrass companion, but also a great companion for the singer songwriter. The guitar doesn't need a neck reset any more because it has been done already. It has a nice straight neck with newer frets. The guitar loads of wear and a few cracks on the back have been repaired, the top is very nice clean and original and crackfree, can't even find the usual pickguard crack. The sides had a few collisions in the past 70 years, at the top/bass side you can find ding-repair and there is a patch on the treble side, probably she was knocked against a table edge sometimes in the past 70 years? Yes she's that old and matured. The exact information is lost in 'the mist of time'. But for the rest, she is pretty original including the original open geared tuners and original finish, but with loads of play/pickwear. And if i'm correctly this was the guitar i sold back in 2007 and previously was owned by my brother who owned it between 1989 and 2007. Back then we bought it together at Bergman's in Arnhem in 1989 (for 3500 guilders!) Rob only buys guitars that sound incredibly like this one. This is nowadays a rare find and a gem for the right player! ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
