Martin / D41 Rosewood Spruce / 1972 / Guitar

The D41 is not just any dreadnought. It is an heirloom and a tangible result of the passion and craftsmanship that comes with creating Martin guitars. It differs from the standard Martin's by the beautiful and luxurious edge inlay and hexagonal fingerboard inlay. In addition, this Martin also has gold hardware, which completes the exceptional appearance. This D41 is from 1972 and is composed of back and sides made from beautiful Indian rosewood and a Sitka spruce top with a nice narrow grain. The mahogany neck features an ebony fingerboard with hexagonal Abalone inlays and ends at the rosewood headstock where the beautiful abalone inlaid "C.F. Martin" logo can be found. Style 41 was introduced in 1969 with the very first prototypes still using Brazilian, it was also actually fancier than the earlier (pre-1943) style 42 with it's fingerboard and headstock inlays. However, the best way to tell style 41 and style 42 apart is that style 41 does not feature abalone inlay surrounding the fretboard. She has had some traces over the years, which is very understandable. This D41 has a very nice growl with big lows and a lot of definition in the middle and high which makes it sound refined. Besides the traces of use and some faded lacquer, the top has two repaired cracks, a newer (and slightly bigger) pickguard, bridge and bridgeplate. It has had a neck reset, a truss rod has been added to the neck and the fretboard inlay at the first and seventeenth have been added to the fretboard later on. The condition is 'Sold As Is' but it still plays very comfortable. Travels in original hardshell case. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
