Martin / HD-28 S / 1995 / Indian Rosewood / Guitar

Martin’s best vintage Reissue model has always been their highly successful “Herringbone” HD-28 that started production in 1985. In 1995, Martin made a Limited Run of its “Custom” made HD-28 S Herringbones w/its 12-fret neck set & its extended body dimensions mated to a square shaped Slotted Peghead. Its dreadnaught size has an aged lacquer finish over a Sitka Spruce Top sporting some stunning Indian Rosewood on its back and sides w/a fabulous colorful striped wood selection. Its Ebony fingerboard has war time “Diamond” inlays w/a matching ebony bridge. Its Herringbone trim on this 12-fret is gorgeous & its Tortoise’gard finishes it off nicely. This 1st batch of “S” models pre-dated their VS series & are superior instruments that are getting very scarce & hard to find. Martin made them again later in the 2000’s but the 95’s are truly the best ones. She’s truly near mint & comes in its original Black mold hard case.
