Martin / O-42 / 2010 / Guitar

Martin 0-42 Alpine custom (2010) Italian Alpine Spruce-Indian Rosewood, Short Scale, OHC, NM Martin 0-42 alpine custom, featuring an exquisite mix of features, such a delicate Italian spruce top, considered the ultimate fingerstyle tonewood that only needs a soft touch to respond, combined to a premium grade Indian Rosewood, this is among the very best to find out there. This wonderful 'Stradivari' spruce wood was familiair to us from earlier custom orders with Lowden, Martin, Mcilroy, Rozawood and Collings, and we know how special the wood is and how well it performs on a 12 fret guitar, we didn't hesitate to buy this beauty when it passed our shop. Italian spruce originates from "Val di Fiemme" a vally on the southern slopes of the Italian parts of the Alps, and it's the exact same wood Stradivari used for his famed violins. Tonally considered Superior to any other Spruce species, especially when used on smaller instruments like this 0-42 model. Combined with Premium Rosewood back & sides the fine grain Italian spruce top with a rather light colour brings out the very best in this guitar. especially the upper register excel but also the bass is crisp and clear, and I'm quite sure you never heard overtones and trebles like this before. All the appointments of a "42" style guitar are in this guitar, including 42 style Abalone top border, and 42 style snowflake fingerboard inlays.  Other features include Gold Gotoh tuning machines, Tapered non-slotted headstock with beautiful Abalone torch inlay. The body, headstock and fretboard are bound with grained Ivoroid. Colourful marquetry forms the back centre strip, abalone rosette, and trims the fretboard extension and top as well, Ebony pyramid bridge with Square inlays, bound Ebony fretboard. Mahogany neck with diamond volute. 46mm(1 13/16") width at the nut, 650mm(25.5") scale length, 60mm( 2 9/25") fingerspacing at the saddle. Impressive Craftsmanship combined to excelling tone. stunning classical steel string looks. As to the condition of the 2010 Guitar, it's near mint very close to Mint condition and you need a magnifier to find anything on it.. anyway we didn't. Comes with Original Hard case.           Basic specs Back/sides: Solid Indian rosewood 3 piece Top Wood: Solid Italian Alpine spruce Fingerboard:  bound Ebony Neck Wood: 1 piece Mahogany Body Binding:  Ivoroid Fingerboard Binding: Ivoroid Headstock Bindings: Ivoroid Fingerboard Inlay: Snowflake style 45  Soundhole inlay: Abalone style 42 Trim: Abalone style 42 Bridge: Ebony pyramid, with Snowflake inlay Headstyle:  Martin style tapered (non Slotted)  Headplate: Solid Ebony Pickup: none  Purfling: Abalone Back Strip:  Colourful zipper Tuners: Gotoh Gold Body Size: 0-42 model  Scale: 632mm (24.9") Nut Width: 45.6mm (nearly 1 13/16")  String Spacing: 58.2mm (2 5/16") Lower Bout: 342mm (14 3/7") Body Depth at Tail Block: 105mm (4 1/8")

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
