Martin / OM-40 Limited Edition / 1994 / Natural / Guitar
This guitar listed in the UK in 1994, for £7,500 which adjusted for inflation and RPI, according to the 'this is money' website equates to over £13,750 today. And I can believe it.
Problem is, I really do not know how many of these Limited Edition, hand made and personally signed inside by CF Martin IV OM-40's ever made it to the UK, or even to Europe as only 56 left the Martin factory. Which us a shame as most people will never have come across this stunning Martin
This one is MINT and just about AS-NEW. It is simply breaking to look at at sounds as sweet as a nut. It is easy to play and is everything you wish for in an OM size Martin without blowing $350k on an original pre-war 40/45 series.
It comes with original hard case, original booklet and is adorned with the most beautiful abalone and mother of pearl inlays including vintage style snowflake inlays on the stunning, dark ebony fingerboard and even 2 x abalone snowflakes on each of the ebony tuner buttons! Quite something...
It is made from the finest, straight grain rosewood and spruce, it has a vintage size and feel, the neck has a nice, soft 'V' to it and the action is everything you could wish for. A real easy guitar to play.
Soundwise, it is rich tonally, all across the balanced mid range with a nice firm bottom end and pretty sparkling highs. I am sure the new owner will not be disappointed and if it does not sell, which I am sure it will, I will be more than happy to keep it for myself ;-)
There you go. So, go on, ruin my fun and buy this from me before I change my mind...!
