Martin / OM18 Sinker Mahogany Adirondack / 2021 / Guitar

Martin's OM model has proven itself over the years as a loyal and versatile companion for many guitarists. Thanks to the use of special and proven wood, the instrument has a balanced sound that lends itself to different music and playing styles, although the guitar excels in fingerstyle due to its wide neck! For the back, sides and neck of this OM18, Martin used Sinker mahogany, which was originally cut at the end of the 18th century. The wood comes from the rainforest in Central America, and transporting these logs was not an easy job. The river was used to transport the wood, with some logs becoming stuck under water. The wood remained deprived of oxygen for more than a century, giving the wood unique properties. The top of this Martin is made of Adirondack spruce, a type of wood that gives the guitar an enormous amount of volume and clarity due to its stiffness. The wood was used during the Golden Era of guitar making, and this OM18 also features the same scalloped X-bracing that was used at the time. The guitar is therefore extremely responsive and lively, and responds beautifully to the nuances of guitar playing. This Martin OM18 from 2021 has light playwear, including some dings on the top. There are also playing marks on the back of the neck, and there is a spot in the lacquer along the binding on the top near the waist on the bass side. In addition, a pickup was once installed, but has since been removed. Two strap buttons are also installed. The guitar is otherwise very clean and in excellent condition. Delivered with TFOA passport in a TKL hardshell case. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
