Martin / OMC / 2006 / Guitar
The Martin OMC Sustainable Wood Series is a line of acoustic guitars that were first introduced in 2006. These guitars were designed to be environmentally conscious, with a focus on using sustainable materials throughout the construction process.
The body of the guitar is made from solid certified red birch and cherry wood, which is sourced from responsibly managed forests in the Eastern United States. The top of the guitar is made from solid Sitka spruce, a common tonewood known for its clear and balanced sound.
The neck of the guitar is made from select hardwood and features a low profile shape for comfortable playability. The fingerboard and bridge are made from Richlite, a sustainable composite material that has a similar look and feel to ebony.
Other features of the Martin OMC Sustainable Wood Series include a 25.4" scale length, 1-3/4" nut width, and a modified low-oval neck profile. The guitar also comes equipped with Martin's Fishman Aura VT Enhance pickup system, which provides natural-sounding amplified tones.
This example is in really nice condition, with some minor signs of play time but nothing that detracts from the look of the instrument at all. It plays really nicely! The neck is very comfortable, and the sound it produces is clear and warm, with excellent projection. The cutaway makes for easy access to the upper frets and the pickup is perfect for live use.
A great option for those looking for an environmentally conscious acoustic guitar, that delivers excellent sound and playability...
