Max Guitars / Flying V '58 Relic Left-Handed / 1990 / Korina Finish / Guitar

This faithful 1990 replica of a 1958 Gibson Flying V was made by the respected Master Luthier, Mr. Peter “Max” Baranet complete w/its heavy Relic’d finish checking (prior to Fender and Gibson doing this in their Custom Shops). This is the last one of 3 Lefty ’58 Flying V’s made in the late ’80s for Lefty guitar dealer/collector Scott Jennings from Route 66 Guitars in California before Max started using his own name on the headstocks. True to the original, the body and neck are made from solid Limba Wood known as Korina wood. This perfect replica features an original 1960’s SG Std. fingerboard, Historic Reissue V tailpiece, White pickgard & 1965 Gibson vintage Kluson Deluxe tuners. It also has a Gibson Pat. # stickered mid-60’s humbucker in its neck position & a 70’s Pat. # stamped humbucker in its bridge position. It even has an original Gibson raised Gold logo on its headstock w/a perfect inked on 1958 serial #. 7 lbs. 12 oz. If you’d ever wanted a genuine Gibson Korina Flying V…sorry the factory made no left handers originally so now’s your chance. Its in as-new condition & comes in a nice 90’s Brown tolex/pink lined hard case.

Peter “Max” (now retired) is considered to be one of America’s premier electric guitar builders and has created Gibson Les Paul and Flying V replicas for players like Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Lenny Kravitz, Nikki Sixx and Zakk Wylde. Every MAX replica was hand-made by Max personally. These were not mass produced, factory made instruments. Quantities were extremely limited. In fact, less than 10 people in the United States own a genuine MAX Flametop Les Paul & Flying V. Many of these Replicas have traded hands by bad actors as originals over the years. According to Max, “my reproductions are as close to an original 50’s guitar as possible & most definitely closer than anyone else has come. My guitars give you the same quality, sound and beauty of an original 1959 Flying V”.
