This is a Mcilroy AS-65, Featuring Special Curly Brazilian Mahogany back and sides and Solid western Red cedar on top. It's the Deluxe version if you like, and this '65' series is rarely seen due to the rarity of -in this case- Brazilian figured mahogany. It looks modest but the list of features certainly does not, it's a masterpiece in every detail! It has a 5 piece Mahogany/maple neck construction, Ebony Bound Ebony fingerboard with Maple purfling, ebony bound top with Pear, maple and rosewood purfling, Ebony bound back with maple/rosewood purfling, ebony heelcap, Pau Abalone rosette with pear and rosewood purfling, Ebony headstock veneer, Pau Abalone 'Mcilroy' headstock inlay, Celtic knot at the 12th fret, Gold Gotoh SG503 Tuners, 45mm (1 3/4") width at nut, 650mm (25 1/2") scale length and 56mm(2 3/16") fingerspacing at the saddle. A magnificent small guitar, tonally very impressive, unique if you like, close family to Lowden's S model - The AS series is a small body 14 fret similar in size to a classical guitar or a OM model but it produces a volume, clarity and tone unlike any other OM!
