The model Axis EX was only produced for Japan for a short time. The original USA parts were finished by Music Man Japan (Kanda Shokai) in highest perfection. Some say that left over parts of the "EVH" signature were used.
This guitar, like the EVH, has the pickup selector offset from the volume knob and the neck is a little sturdier.
