This is a shop favorite. This is our 1959 Valco-made National 'Bel-Aire' model 1198 in Sunburst. As history goes, Valco purchased bodies from Gibson via The Chicago Musical Instrument company. In this case, an ES-175 body was sent, and a National logo was slapped on the headstock, so to speak. This is a special year for the Bel-Aire. It was in 1958 that National added a third pickup, upgraded to a gold lever-style pickup selector switch, replaced the fingerboard inlays with the enclosed diamond blocks and re-designed the now-asymmetrical headstock. The guitar is in fairly good condition. She was well-loved and kept clean! Our National comes with the pictured hardshell case.
