We’ve just acquired this wonderful 1934 National Style O from the family of its original owner. A very young Mary Cismas got this beauty brand new for her 11th Birthday. Today Mary is 98 & her Son Ted was sent in to me by a mutual friend. The 1st example of the fancy National nickel plated Style O started in 1930 w/a 12-fret neck set having stunning etched Palm Tree scenes front & back. This is a Style O from late 1934, which has the “modernized” 14-fret neck, smaller body, and “silver” plated body. Materials on the Style O’s are upgraded over the more basic Duolians and Triolians. This example sports a sunburst finished maple neck w/a bound ebony fingerboard w/pearl dot markers. This guitar also has the desirable “chicken-foot” pattern for its coverplate which replaced the more standard style plate used prior. There’s some cool aged patina to the finish yet its still stunning in all respects. Having only 1 small dent on its back lower edge (going to try & remove it), otherwise she’s an untouched original example from its Headstock Logo to its resonator biscuit. Overall its quite excellent & a perfect 1 owner Style O for that collector or player. Comes w/a soft case.
