National Pre War New Yorker Lap Steel 1938
Instrument Description:
This is a beautiful and very rare 1938 6 strings National New Yorker lap steel guitar. These are the more desirable New Yorker models with the 3 pickups, one at bridge and 2 hidden ones in the cavity near the 12th fret. Very unique concept for the 1930's. The New Yorker lap steel was more expensive to buy new in 1938 than the Duolian resonator model! It's is in very good condition for its age and all original. The pickup's sounds great, the 3 way switch is working, but a little stiff, but the tone is changing on each setting and it sounds very nice.. It comes with the original screw in jack, which is scratchy, "only at the 1/4" plug", a vintage slide and the original case in good condition with one broken latch only.
