National / Trojan Wood Body 14-Fret / 1936 / Guitar

The first wood body resonator introduced by National was the Triolian in late 1928, but by 1929 this model was converted to a metal body instrument. That left only a handful of other wood-body models amongst which was the Trojan which was introduced in 1934. This 1936 specimen still rocks the unbound, open headstock design, trapeze tailpiece and no pickguard which all changed in 1937. A truly stunning vintage resonator with that typical, slightly warmer and lesh "harsh" tonal character provided by the laminated maple body.  The instrument still has the original biscuit bridge and cone which was repaired at some point. Inside the body an inscription can be found: "Neck set" 9/28/87 WM Chapman Colu. S.C. And below that a more recent inscription: Jan 2009 Kraushaar (Luthier Walter Kraushaar) With this we can confirm this guitar has had a professional neck set back in 1987, and in 2009 it got newer frets along with a newer trussrod and Granadillo fretboard. The back of the V-shaped neck was refinished and it has two repaired cracks running from the heel along the sides. The result is a phenomenal instrument both in playability and sound with a proper neck angle and entirely stable, ready for plenty more years of playing! The instrument also has two small holes in the top and one extra hole near the endpin which were most likely used for a pickup of some sorts. Included is a period correct Geib hardshell case. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
