No Name / Flying V Clone / 1958 / Natural / Guitar

We traded this 1958 Flying V Clone that formerly belonged to Steven Segal. This is Steven Segal's original Advertsing, and some of the pics are originally taken in Steven Segal's home were the Guitar is shown next to a Original 1958 flying V, See any difference between the two? What we like to add to the original advertising is this: This guitar is made of Superb Korina and weighs in at only 2.75kg only.! So this incredibly original and stunning guitar must be one the lightest Flying Vee in the Universe?! Great guitar in wonderful condition with Case. Original advertising: Here is the absolute best replica of a 1958 Flying V that you will ever find. See it pictured here beside my original 1958 Flying V. It will outright destroy any of the others out there including a "Max". It is so accurate and exacting in every way that I prefer to call it a clone. It was in fact copied from my own original 1958 Gibson Flying V. Everything was taken into consideration. The neck angle is exact as is the neck size and contour which were copied from my original by using a micrometer with a scottish curve. The heel size and contour is bang on as so are the body shoulders and that is something that you won’t find on others! This guitar was not just built from templates that were measured at one time but instead was compared to a real 58 V through every step of construction! The African limba wood or Korina wood as it is better known, was taken from a 30 year old plank and is as good as it gets having nicely figured grain and being light as a feather. The complete guitar weighs in at 6 ¼ lbs!!! The fingerboard is of a beautiful swirly grained Brazillian rosewood and sports Dunlop 6105 fretts. The finish is faithful to the originals being done in low solvent content nitrocellulose lacquer. This means that if exposed to cold, the finish will check and age to a patina that will look exactly like an original 58 V. The pickguard and the brass V tailpiece are already aged and really look the part. The logo is an original correct 1950s logo taken from a lapsteel. All other parts are Gibson historic except for the tuners which are 1970s Gibson deluxe. The pickups are Seymour Duncan antiquity humbuckers and sound quite close to real thing. The skid pad on the lower wing is the correct exact size " V groove" rubber. The case is a brown Gibson Historic V case. I cannot emphasize how great this guitar sounds. In an A/B test against my original you would have an almost impossible time telling which one is which. Couple that with superlative playability and you have a guitar from the heavens. I had 3 of these made and am using 2 as my stage guitars. This is the ONLY one you will ever see available on the open market. Don’t hesitate.....you won’t regret it.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
