I purchased this guitar from another Florida shop, but one with a famous owner. I've heard rumors that he was a session player for all of the Steely Dan records and he once played Ace Frehley's guitar parts backstage when Ace had the Hungarian bird flu. Again, these are just rumors, but I can attest to the fact that, when meeting the guys in KISS years ago, Paul Stanley took one look at my boy and said, "Nice hair."

The thing about base-level Ovations is that whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, their guitars can and will serve you well in any situation. The electronics in this Custom Legend allow you to carefully control the tone of the guitar and by miracles of all miracles, the newer battery compartment is present (no more battery boxes flying around the inside of the guitar during shipment.) To top it all off, "Redburst" is one of the coolest colors ever attached to a guitar.

This Custom Legend cleaned up nicely and a new set of strings later, it rings out like a bell. It has a great, tight sound and you will enjoy the low action, crisp OP-24 electronics, and reasonable price. There are a few very light surface scratches on the face, but they are not offensive to the eyes and the fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. The case is also clean and structurally sound.
