Before I even had the chance to research this guitar, at the first opening of the case, I just sat back in surprise and appreciation. I am convinced that there is nothing on this earth more beautiful than exquisitely figured wood. Whether flamed, birdseye, or quilted, the beauty of wood, in my eyes has never been surpassed by anything made by man. So, to have the privilege to own such an instrument was not lost on me when I held it for the first time.
It's my understanding that this run of 100 guitars was commissioned to commemorate the 7th Experience PRS event back in 2013. Some of the features of this special run were:
~ Artist-grade Maple top capping a semi-hollow Mahogany body.
~ Pattern profile neck with Ebony fretboard.
~ Ebony headstock veneer with "pre-factory" eagle inlay.
~ Artist bird inlays.
~ Phase III hybrid tuners.
~ PRS 408 pickup system.
This PRS 408 is also one of the best-playing guitars to hit the Elkcave in a long time. It shows virtually no signs of playwear, having only a couple of very light dings and a tiny smudge on the upper edge. It's been cleaned, set up and will arrive ready to instantly please!
