PRS Paul Reed Smith / McCarty Soapbar / 2004 / Goldtop / Guitar
For offer is my 2004 PRS USA McCarty Soapbar Goldtop. The neck appears unmarked and plays beautifully, it's Rosewood fingerboard is unchipped and the frets show very little if any sign of wear. Moon inlays.
The body is well finished and has a few minor scrapes. On the rear there is the usual "Buckle rash" that's so common on any guitars that have been actually used! This is however not through the lacquer and can only really be seen when looking for it. There is also a dent in the lacquer on the upper bass bout, this is possibly stand damage, but it has cracked (but not chipped) the lacquer. The beautiful goldtop is virtually unmarked.
All electrics are fully working and crackle free. The twinned P90 pickups do everything that they're meant to be - they have the dynamics of single coils but with more meat!
The guitar is set up with a brand new set of Ernie Ball Strings and action and intonation are spot on (the first time I've ever had a "wraparound" bridge!
The strap buttons are Schaller straplocks and I'll include the relevant "strap ends" for the buyer.
The case (as pictured) is a PRS standard case, and this in rather "used" condition, with a couple of rips in the tolex covering - one quite significant - it is however fully functional, all catches work. Basically the case has done what it's meant to do and protected the guitar well - and it will continue to do so for years yet!
