A remarkable guitar, this very rare 2002 PRS Santana II. After a run of almost 9 years, (1998-2007) PRS ceased production of their finest and most expensive production guitar. A guitar that was still very close to the original guitar made for Carlos in the late 1970's. Later Santana Models such as the "Santana MD" and 25th "Santana" listed at half the price of this guitar, and that's why only so few were made of these and only a hand full every year come up for sale. Considered very collectible due to the high end specs, such as the artist grade top, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and headstock overlay, In all these years of remarkable guitars, this is only my 2nd ever Santana II. In amazing excellent+ close to near mint condition, a bit of lacquer smug on the back of the headstock and a few tiny surface dings that can only be found 'under the microscope, The Santana II is based on the original instrument that Paul Reed Smith built for Carlos Santana and really comes with that historic high end aura some of PRS vintage guitars are famed for. Features include Mahogany one piece body with East Coast artist grade Maple top, Santana Treble/Bass Zebra pickups, Paua shell purfling strips on top, rippled Abalone bird inlays, PRS Eagle inlay on headstock, PRS tremolo, Santana fret wire, Phase II locking tuners with ebony buttons, Santana truss rod symbol inlay, and it sounds like it looks, impressive and amazing, with endless sustain.
