"Cata" is a Local Wood Challenge guitar.
She features a reclaimed pine body (it comes from a construction beam from the 1950's that a friend gave me -the construction beam was from her father-), walnut neck, fingerboard, bridge, covers, tailpiece and knob (all the walnut comes from the same tree, which was cut down near Mechelen, Belgium, in the late 1990's), and yew headplates (front and back, plus trussrod cover -also grown near Mechelen, Belgium).
Hipshot opengear tuners and Dunlop flush mount locking strap buttons.
The P90 pickup handmade by Pascual Brisa Brisa and has an output of 7kohms.
It's thinner in the bass side than in the treble side (Manzer wedge), which makes it even more confortable to play.
The finish is oil.
She is very resonant and it only weights 2.8kg.
Comes with a Hiscox case.

After learning instrument making in Spain, UK and Belgium, and with previous training in furniture making and design, I've just settled my new workshop in A Coruña, Spain. I build mainly classical, steel string acoustic and electric guitars, but also electric basses, mandolins and other plucked instruments.
With every project, I wants to achieve three goals: sensitivity and response to the musician’s needs, comfort for the player, and aesthetics regarding shape, construction and colour. Another pillar of my work is the careful selection of the raw material, regarding the cutting, seasoning and also the sustainability and respect towards each piece of wood. Unique instruments adapted to the needs of every musician.
