Parker / Fly Classic / 2000 / Trans Red / Guitar
If you go back to those magnificent early-'90s Yamaha Pacificas, then you'll remember their whisper-thin necks that were so insanely fast and easy to play. If you loved them, then you really loved them and if you were a fat-neck Les Paul kind of guy, then they weren't your cup of tea. Well, those old Yamahas were the first thing I thought of when I first wrapped my left hand around the neck of this Classic Fly.
On the 103rd day of the year of our Lord 2000, this guitar was the first instrument built by the fine artisans at Parker guitars. I imagine that those gentlemen were fresh and eager to get at it, with steaming hot cups of coffee in that cool Massachusetts Spring. The result of that early effort is this stunning piece of machinery that also just happens to be the best playing and sounding guitar in our shop. The action is low and effortless, the twin humbuckers are as rowdy as an untamed colt and the piezo is crisp and articulate. I especially like the sound of the bridge pickup blended with a smidgen of piezo mixed in. Makes it nice and growly, with a bit of "chime" on top.
The guitar has been detailed, restrung with a new set of 9s and checked for proper operation. All is well and the guitar's in very good condition. There is a good bit of pick swirling below the high "E" string and a few surface scratches behind the tailpiece. There are also some very light surface swirls on the back, but you have to turn the guitar into the reflection of an overhead light to see them. We call this well-played and well-loved.
If you are a fan of these exceptional guitars, then this Classic Fly will make a solid addition to your collection and if this will be your first Fly, you might as well start off with an absolute killer! Please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, we thank you fir stopping by!
