Poljakoff / S1 OM Model Mint / 2016 / Guitar

Poljakoff S1 OM model acoustic guitar from 2016. Jakob Poljakoff is a young Luthier from Dortmund, Germany, actually with 33 years of Age probably one of the youngest independent luthiers in Europe. Jakob has been building guitars for several years, and the expert opinion is that he's working on a very high level (please have a look at the Peter Finger Video below and judge for yourself) His guitars have typical European modest looks but playing them will make a big impression on every player, you immediately notice the unique character and impressive tonal qualities that reminded me of Stefan Sobell guitars, and his detailing is miraculous. One of the eye-catching innovative details is the carved rounded headstock, stylish and comfortable - and the complexity of the headstock construction where the head is - Stauffer style- glued on the neck using a complex wedge, actually a better sustaining and more solid construction, but too much work in general for factory made guitars, and only seen now and then on Luthier made guitars. Also noteworthy is the raised fretboard, a technique more often used in classical guitars, but perfectly in place on this instrument. The S style Body is a only 5mm smaller compared to the general OM size body, with similar depth, so I think it's fair to state this is a OM-size body. This guitar is made with a rarely seen custom option, and that's the Shellac/French polish finish on the top that shows the impressive high level Jakob is working on. French polishing consists of applying many thin coats of shellac dissolved in alcohol using a rubbing pad lubricated with oil, it takes several days to apply the Shellac. French polish is a process, not a material, and it's only the gifted Luthiers who master the process. The quality of Jakob's French polish, is among the best we ever seen and that's only one of the reasons we consider Jakob Poljakoff one of the greatest Luthier talents of near future. This guitar is made with the finest Indian rosewood. The top is made of the finest quality mastergrade alpine spruce. The Poljakoff S-1 model is a graceful and understated beauty and a masterpiece of artistry. Perfectly mastered inside and out. Every brace inside is sanded perfectly and every cosmetic detail is simply perfectly detailed. Other features: Mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and both bound with ebony and paired to a maple purfling, a nice detail is the Polished Ebony string through bridge and the custom soundport. Both the use of hot hide glue (when better) and cold glue construction (when better) are an integral part of Jakobs work. The comfortable 45mm (1 3/4") neck is paired to a perfect 57mm (2 1/4") string-spacing at the bridge, very suitable for fingerstyle players, but not too wide, and also suitable for strumming and picking. This guitar is all about sound. On first stroke you hear it's very special and the massive tone and impressive projection with great bottom end will please the player. Mint condition. Includes original hardshell case. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
