R&R / OM-R Near Mint / 2014 / Guitar

Traded towards another R&R. USED, 2014 first batch! Near mint condition. Buy a used R&R and be surprised by the amazing tone and playability. This guitar was born out of an intense collaboration between Roman Zajicek and Rudi Bults, old guitar-friends, Roman the accomplished Luthier, and Rudi the owner of the Fellowship of Acoustics, you are all familiar with. The basis for this project was a deep desire to build a guitar on a very high level, a guitar - at any level, tone, looks and finish- able to compete with the major high-end guitars such as made by Collings & Santa Cruz- but also able to compete with famous luthiers such as Wayne Henderson and Blazer & Henkes. This being an European Project, the only man to ask for this job was Roman Zajicek. His enthusiasm was inspiring, and together we've pulled out all every trick and piece of knowledge we had available together. Meaning the guitar is built with the best of old and new, with the single purpose to make the best sounding guitar on the planet. It all starts where it all started, the unbeatable pre-war Martin OM-28, and we mixed it with nowadays improvements. We've gone all the way, meaning the guitar is obviously full hide Glue construction, a unique neck reinforcement-concept that is based on the T-bar found in old guitars, but improved- with two standing Carbon Bars in the neck to optimize the stiffness like the T-bar did. However we combined it with a trussrod and kept the dove tail neck construction! Another thing we did is investigate what are the best frets on the planet and we came up with 'Jescar gold' frets. They are very endurable, and have more mass, and therefore more tone compared to nickle frets. Of course the nice gold looks are a cosmetic extra that underlines the quality of the guitar. Other features include X- bracing, forward shifted, scalloped & wide to provide optimum vibration on the surface and increase tone, AAAAA grade aged Alpine spruce top with maximum tap-tone, Selected indian rosewood, Honduras mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, Waverly tuners, Herringbone purfling, Bone Nut and Saddle, The signature looks is the beautiful slotted headstock with RR Torch inlay. Why, because in my experience a slotted head is more than just a cosmetic extra, compared to a solid head, the slotted head provides a more open sound from the start, but is also more resonant and transparent, making the guitar very responsive even to the lightest touch. Other features include diamond and square fingerboard inlays, flamed maple binding. We left of the pickguard, but it is with the guitar. And yes tonally it's all I imagined! 645mm or 25.4" scale length, 45mm or 1 3/4" nut width and 58mm or 2 5/16" string spacing. Condition is excellent with some light signs of use and playwear primarily on the top below the soundhole. Includes original hardshell case. A strap button has been added to the heel. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
