The Spanish luthier José Rafael Romero Barroso is Born in 1963 in the province of Cadiz, he was a professional flamenco guitarists before becoming a highly appreciated luthier, he apprenticed with Mario Melero Deudero and took over his workshop when he retired. Rafael Romero Barroso is a traditional guitarmaker using traditional tool, only crafting fully handmade classical and flamenco guitars. Later he strudied with Jose Romero and Vincente Carrilo. Among artist who play Rafael Romero Barroso guitars are amongst many others; Juan Parrilla, Moraito Chico, Alberto San Miguel and Manuel Parrilla.
The model Rafael Romero R.R. is a fully handmade flamenco Blanca guitar, features include a premium German spruce top, Cypress back and sides, cedar neck and ebony fingerboard, this fully handmade flamenco guitar is crafted by a musician knowing the of both the craft of Flamenco guitar making and Flamenco guitar playing. His guitars are beautifully crafted and finished with great eye for detail. Especially the tone is encouraging and inspiring, and offers a bright, raucous, flamenco sound with great rasp and burn, best described as typical high end flamenco with a deep growling bass that has the right crasp and bite you are longing for in a high end flamenco guitar, added is a strong passionate mid-range and trebles that are ringing at just the right proportion. 53mm width at the nut, 650mm scale length.
