Rick Turner is known from his years at Alembic w/his unique way of building, and of course the now famous Lindsey Buckingham ‘Model one’. This Rick Turner Model 1 Deluxe is a prime example of the high-quality, innovative designs one can expect from a Turner guitar. This particular example has an outstanding Dark Sunburst finish a 5A-grade Quilted Maple top, back  and peghead veneer, on a chambered mahogany body. The 5-piece laminated neck is comprised of the maple and purpleheart and sports an ipe fingerboard. The magic of these guitars lies in the electronics. This passive Model 1 features Turner’s custom built rotating Hot Humbucker in the neck and a piezo pickup in the bridge. One is still able to achieve a wide variety of tones. Both the volume and tone control, which features a push/pull pot for the option of splitting the humbucker, are passive. Instead of a switch, the Model 1 Deluxe features a magnetic/piezo blend knob. This allows a player to blend the humbucker and piezo pickup, choosing to focus on the midrange of the humbucker, or bring out the acoustic qualities of the piezo pickup.  Amazingly this Rick Turner Model 1 Deluxe “screams louder and longer than any guitar you’ve played”. Ever since Lindsey Buckingham took delivery of #79-003, the Model One guitar has been highly sought after for its combination of Old World aesthetics and modern, full-bodied tonal range.
