Rick Turner / Renaissance Deuce Deluxe / 2017 / Guitar

The now world-renowned Rick Turner started out as a music-lover and amateur East Coast musician. His life's story is an interesting read; after he quit his band he moved out west to build electric guitars and winding low-impedance pickups. This in it's turn led Ron Wickersham to develop a pre-amp to boost the signal back to high-impedance levels while maintaining the wide frequency of the low-impedance pickups, eventually Alembic inc. was born out of this collaboration. Eventually he left Alambic to pursue the design of his very own Model One guitar which, as we all probably know, left Rick's workshop and went straight into the hands of Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham. After a brief stint in Gibson's research and development department he resumed his focus on building his own line of instruments. Rick Turner may not be hand-winding his own pickups anymore, but he certainly hasn't stopped discovering ways to turn the music world on its head. And quality is, of course, the top priority with all of Rick Turner's instruments. Enter this Renaissance series Deuce Deluxe from 2017 crossover guitar. Instruments from the Renaissance series reproduce full-frequency acoustic tone for recording and performing. The thinline body is built like a fine acoustic guitar with bent sides and a braced tonewood top and back, but adds to that a solid cedar center block to cut feedback. A Turner Timberline piezo bridge pickup feeds full-spectrum signals to an 18-volt D-TAR Wavelength pre-amp. The combination of these innovative construction methods truly represents the best way to achieve acoustic tone plugged in. A host of different options are available for these instruments, this Deuce features mahogany back and sides mated to a redwood top, a 43mm (1 11/16") nutwidth and an Ebony fingerboard. The Deuce adds a customized Seymour Duncan StagMag pick up which optimizes the response and adds a whole new layer of tonality. It has a separate volume, tone and coil split from the piezo controls. These unique instruments are perfect for recording and live performance under any conditions, and they have proven time and time again to be roadworthy around the world. In excellent condition with some lacquer-cracks in the top finish. Includes high-quality gigbag. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
