This 12-string Rickenbacker 360 is, contrary to the somewhat modernised current 300-series guitars, a pretty accurate remake of the famous 12-string from the sixties as used by The Beatles, The Who and The Byrds. Compared to a modern 360 the (double-bound) body is thinner, the headstock has a different shape and the pickups are early “Toaster” reissue pickups that are wound somewhat hotter than the current ones. The vibrant FireGlo finish has aged a bit over the past years, which makes it look very convincingly old.
Plugged in this 360 nails that famous ‘60s 12-string sound, especially when played clean through a good compressor pedal. Although the neck width is notoriously narrow on these guitars, playability is actually very good and after some practice it’s an easy to play instrument.
The original, somewhat beaten silver grey tolex case is included with the sale.
