The 366-12 is known for its unique ability to convert from a 12-string guitar to a 6-string through Rickenbacker’s patented "Comb" system, a mechanical feature that allows players to "mute" six of the strings, effectively transforming it into a 6-string guitar on the fly. This innovation offers musicians an unprecedented level of versatility in a single instrument.
The semi-hollow body design, made from maple, contributes to the guitar’s bright, jangly tone that’s characteristic of Rickenbacker guitars, made famous by artists like George Harrison and Roger McGuinn. The bound body and checkerboard binding around the back give the guitar a high-end, detailed look.
Its maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with classic triangular pearloid inlays, providing smooth playability. The distinctive dual "toaster top" pickups deliver the unmistakable chime and clarity associated with Rickenbacker’s 12-string guitars. This particular example is in superb condition with no breaks, repairs or touch ups anywhere. The hardware is still gleaming with little signs of corrosion and it plays superbly well with a nice, low action.
We do not see many of these here which is a shame as they are so much fun!
