Rickenbacker / 4001 Bass / 1977 / Mapleglo Finish / Bass

The Rickenbacker 4001 Bass was a whirlwind design when new w/its crested wave body style back in 1961. This example having a QJ code dating to October 1977. Its Mapleglo finish is actually super clean other than some slight back wear. Its triangular pearl inlaid Pau Ferro fingerboard still glistens & feels delicious. Its maple/walnut 3-piece neck-thru body design has great sustain & excellent frets. Its 2 original pickups sounds as good as Chris Squier from “Yes” & plays better than most 4001’s we have owned. I am not a bass player that uses a pick but this one funks like no other we’ve owned prior. Its white’gard is perfect & w/its original chrome capped knobs. Its old-style open back tuners hold perfectly. Its chrome hardware is still quite clean. This is a fabulous player & looks exceptional & comes in its original Black Tolex/Blue Lined hard case.
