These new 4003 basses are some of the best instruments Rickenbacker has ever produced. The neck profiles are a bit more substantial in girth and the tone is versatile in that you can activate the "vintage tone" control to get a nice, high- end bite simply by pulling out the treble tone knob. Push it back in and you return to a nice, round and warm Ricky sound. Another vintage style feature to return is the full- width inlays, so the bass has an "old school" look and feel.
