Roger Mayer / Octavia Autograph / 1993 / Silver / Effect
For the uninitiated, Roger Mayer is the one of the founding fathers of fuzz, the man that helped shaped the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page to name but a few, without whom we wouldn't have the Octavia and those unique tones that Jimi coaxed from his guitar so skillfully.
From pedals to audio processing, Roger built a wide portfolio in both studio and live audio, the fruits of which can be seen in his products.
The pedal is in excellent condition with no sign that it has been used very much at all. There are no paint chips or scuffs.
On the inside there are no signs of any modifications or repairs.
Plugged in is where all the fun begins. Maybe not the go to fuzz pedal but this is certainly a unique sound, even when compared to other octave fuzzes. There is a musicality to this one and the biasing means that it isn't gated and sustains as you'd expect. Combined with other effects, this thing really shines. A bucket lust pedal if ever ther was one.
A classic tone in an iconic box from the man that invented it, what more do you want..?
