Rufini Fine Instruments, Italy
Matteo Rufini is an Italian born luthier; he's been perfecting his craft since the year 2000.
His workshop is based in the medieval city of Perugia where he graduated from Art school. He learned the craft of violin making at the "Mastri Liutai e Archettai" institute, one of the most prestigious Italian lutherie school; he completed the three year course under the guidance of Master luthiers Marcello di Sante and Winfrid Mayer. He then perfected the craft of string instrument and bow making with Master Benoit Cordonnier in his Paris atelier.
In 2007 he opens his own workshop where he mainly builds violins, violas, acoustic and classical guitars, electric basses. He works following the classical techniques exclusively, which he also applies to create baroque and pre aged instruments.
ELECTRIC INSTRUMENTS
Along with my classical builds I take pride in crafting the finest electric instruments.
My goal is to apply classical lutherie's principles about sound and aesthetic to my modern instruments. My experience in the classical field tells me every instrument has an inherent voice, so I hand craft them one by one without the use of CNC machines, so i can guarantee the highest quality and sound projection.
My production is divided in series. Every series has its own style and individual sonic character.
