Santa Cruz Tony Rice, for the classy-guitar-lovers a tasty bite, in fact one fo the utmost popular standard Santa Cruz With beautiful grained selected indian rosewood back & sides, sitka spruce top, mahogany neck, Bound ebony fingerboard, 644mm (25 375 ") scale length, 43.6mm (1 23/32") Nut width. The sound hole is slightly enlarged, making the total response more balanced and increasing the tonal response of mids and treble. Truly a 'machine' that makes the blood pump. Amazing guitar with amazing looks, of course with dream low action/perfectly set up from our shop.
This is a masterpiece of guitar design, and the Tony Rice Model fans are divided equally among flat pickers and fingerstyle players who both highly value the versatility and uniqueness of this guitar. The guitar is based on a 1936 Martin D-28 which was previously played by Clarence White, now owned by Tony Rice and restored by both Martin and later on- Richard Hoover of Santa Cruz Guitars back in the late 1970's. You can see Tony Rice occasionally playing the original on you-tube. Other features include herringbone trim and rosette, Waverly tuners, ivoroid bound body, fingerboard and headstock, no inlay on the ebony peghead, but Santa Cruz Logo inlaid at the 12th fret, Comes with a deluxe Santa Cruz Ameritage case.
