Shin-ei / Uni-Vibe / 1969 / Effect
The Shin-Ei Uni-Vibe is a classic phase shifter effect made famous by Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, and many more. The thick, rich “chorus” effect that it’s famous for has become a staple in a classic rock guitarist’s rig. While the Uni-Vibe’s construction is closely copied by many companies, many players confirm that there’s just nothing like the real thing.
This Shin-Ei Uni-Vibe has survived in fully functional condition. The only maintenance required were new filter caps and a quick potentiometer cleaning. The rest of the pedal is clean and untouched. The original expression pedal was lost and replaced with a newer pedal.
These Uni-Vibes are known to be inconsistent in tone but let me assure you that this a good one. It likes to take a minute to warm up but once it does it’s a joy to play. The doppler effect is strong and the classic tone is unmistakable.
