1955 Silvertone 1369L Jimmy Reed "Thin Twin" - Sunburst incl. beige chip-board case
1955 Silvertone "Jimmy Reed" 1369L model in Natural finish in excellent condition for its age. This Silvertone was produced by Kay of Chicago. In the Kay catalogue it was known as the K161 and was endorsed by Jimmy Reed (the model is also known as the Jimmy Reed model). Sears marketed this guitar as the 1382L Thin Twin under the Silvertone brand. Introduced not long after Gibson's Les Paul, the ThinTwin was a semi-hollow body guitar and larger than its name "thin" implied. The guitar's body was 2 3⁄4 inches (70 mm) deep. "ThinTwin" was a reference to the unique appearance of the dual pickups, having a very slim profile. The guitar is in excellent condition for its age and all original, only some minor playwear, the original frets are still in great shape! Hollowbody maple body with single-cutaway, 2x famous "Thinline" pickups with strong outputs and 2x Volumen/-2x Tone controls, the 3-way selector switch lets you play each pickup individually or all 3 together. Original electric, all 4 pots are dated 1955. Great action, the 19 frets still have plenty of life. Sounds nice, electrified and unplugged. Incl. beige chip-board case.
