Stelling / Sunflower Banjo Old Wood Rim & Flame Maple In Sunburst / 2013 / Stringed Instrument
Stelling Sunflower Banjo (new) Old wood Rim & Flame Maple in sunburst, Original Case
By slightly modifying and adding to the -Bellflower inlay pattern- and making the neck and resonator out of curly maple instead of walnut, Stelling created the Sunflower. The shaded, Cremona style "sunburst" staining on this model is very popular and highlights the quality of the wood used. Wood: Shaded Curly Maple Plating: Nickel Plating, other engraving and options available. All models feature the Tony Pass 600TS Old Wood Rim and a deluxe TKL emerald green crushed velvet plush lined case. Stelling now uses the Tony Pass 600TS old wood rim as standard equipment on all new Stelling banjos. Retrofits for older Stellings are also available.
This wood has been lying on the bottom of Lake Superior and other bodies of water for over 100 years and could have been hundreds of years old when it was cut down. After a special kiln drying process, this wood is in better than new condition (acoustically speaking) because of the age of the wood combined with the microbiological action to which it was subjected for so many years. It's been said that Stradivarius took advantage of the same process for his violin wood, but for a much shorter time (perhaps only a few years). The result in a new (or even used) Stelling banjo is awesome. It's been compared to prewar banjos in such a superior way for tone and volume that we now use these rims as standard equipment on all new Stellings.

The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Netherlands
ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
