Stoll Guitars / Pocket Travel / 2023 / Nature / Guitar For Sale
The Pocket Travel is truly the dream of any guitarist looking for a traveler guitar. Despite its size, this midget generates an amazing sound! Whether by plane, train or road trip, even by bike or on foot, the Pocket Travel is the perfect companion.
Often, guitarists accept a considerable amount of sound loss on a travel guitar. It goes without saying that rich sound is related to the size of the sound box, but with 35 years of experience in guitar building, one can also tease something amazing out of a small guitar body.
Handling and Sound
With a length of 850 mm, a width of 320 mm and a weight of only 960 g, the Pocket Travel is designed for travelling from head to toe. It is also ergonomically balanced. The relatively wide lower bout provides a good support for the arm. The small upper bout ensures that the body is resting comfortably on the leg. With a scale length of 620 mm, the fingerboard almost reaches standard dimensions, thus it is also comfortable to handle in this respect and the fretting hand quickly feels familiar.
The sound hole is placed very high on the top, so that despite the small size the largest possible vibrating surface is achieved. The secret of the surprisingly full sound lies, as so often, in bracing and overall concept.
Woods and Equipment
European Walnut for back and sides has proven effective to support sound projection on this guitar. The headstock veneer is also made of walnut. The top is made of spruce. The lightweight neck of Spanish Cedar provides for balanced handling. Color contrasts are set by fingerboard and bridge made of Rosewood. This gem can of course be equipped with a pickup or a hardcase.
