When I was a kid, living on Jaillette Road, my uncle Jim and Aunt Linda lived next door to us. Over the years, he would buy junk cars, bring them home and when my aunt blew her lid, his go-to line was, "All she needs is a motor." Well, it rarely worked and by the time we moved away, he must have had about 10 junk car husks strewn around his property. And, I can personally attest to the fact that a pine tree, given enough time can lift the body of a '69 Volkswagen van off the ground...

As to this Classic J, same thing applies- all she needs is a motor, or more precisely, two pickups, three pots, a bit of wiring and an input jack. Gather those few items together and you'll be off to the bass races for the cheap. Now I know there are a couple of really noticeable boinks on the body, but if you look at it as "natural relicing," then they are forgivable. There are also some dings on the back, but you'll have to turn the body into the reflection of an overhead light to see them clearly.

This is a numbers matching bass that's ready to rumble again- all she needs is a little time and care. Then, you'll have a professional-grade Suhr at about half the cost of a new one. The bass has been detailed and the fretboard oiled. It didn't have a case when we bought it, so I housed it in a semi-hardshell case that perfectly protects it.
