I'd say in the world of acoustic guitars, we focus pretty much on two kind: the serious ones and the fun ones. They are, in a way exactly like the women on the Andy Griffith Show (the earlier, black and whites on of course). If you're a fan of that show, then you'll surely remember some of the girls that passed through Mayberry and they all were very different. Do you remember the the gorgeous lady that was brought in by the State Police to be held overnight? She was beautiful and seductive and both Andy and Barney were smitten to the point that they were looking for reasons to stay in the courthouse overnight. She was so beautiful, she mesmerized Barney and snuck out of her cell. Had Andy not gone back to check up on her (as he too was enchanted), she would have escaped. She is our Brazilian guitar: she is our Martins. In other words, serious business. On the other hand, there were the Fun Girls. These were the two girls that Andy and Barney met in the diner in Mount Pilot and they were something else! They were loud and brash and the giggly one, Skippy always called Barney "Bernie". They were both irreverent and craved attention- they are our Takamines. You might go camping or be at a party with friends when the question, "Hey, who's got a guitar" pops out of somebody's face.
