Thomas Humphrey Millenium / Classical Concert Guitar Brazilian Rosewood -German Spruce / 1988 / Guitar

Thomas Humphrey Millenium (1988) Brazilian Rosewood -German spruce, OHC,

This is a Thomas Humphrey Millenium, classical concert guitar, a very rare find anywhere in the world, but most certainly in Europe. Thomas Humphrey guitars are considered to be among the finest made on this planet, and we always wanted to find one, however they are very scarce. Now we have one on offer, and i'm thrilled with the opportunity and can only underline the general opinion on this guitar, that this is one of the best classical guitars we ever heard. This guitar is made in a unorthodox way, built with tone in mind only, on the basis a master-set of quarter sawn- impressively grained old growth Brazilian Rosewood for back and sides and a fine grained matured German Spruce top. This model - developed by the New York settled Late Thomas Humphrey - was played by countless concert artists including Eliot Fisk and Sharon Isbin to name but a few. Part of the revolutionary design lies in a different style of bracing to achieve greater tonal response and increased playability, however the most eye catching features is the elevated fingerboard, constructed for the same purpose, greater tone and better playability, Thomas Humphrey succeeded and has many followers among other high-end guitar makers.

This guitar is an incredible sounding, very expressive open and matured sounding guitar that comes with the unique advantages of a matured spruce top guitar, combined to the wonderful quality typically seen in Thomas Humphrey guitars such as immense headroom, a articulate and focused sound, with a string separation that is almost piano-like precise. Most striking is the immense power this guitar produces, that reminds me of the Bernabe Royal, but is less dark in character and more vibrant, making this guitar one of the best concert classical guitars available for concert hall performance. The guitar is in wonderful condition. Master luthier Achim Peter Gropius repaired on split under the bridge in a most professional and virtually invisible way and also touched up the French Polish where needed. Otherwise this guitar is close to near mint condition, with very little wear, clean frets and comfortable action, (3.6mm at the 12 bass side, 3.0mm at the treble side). This guitar will fill a concert hall, and is suitable for the highest level of playing. The Guitar travels in her original high quality Hardcase and comes with original European pre-ban Invoice legalising the position of this guitar in Europe.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
