This pedal is not one but two: a clean booster and a medium-gain overdrive. Both effects are combined in a very innovative way; the result is a transparent sounding effect that does not hide or mess up the natural tone of the guitar and amp.
You can really feel the effect where other overdrives get lost in the mud...Single note attack is still there and it won't 'squeeze' or make your amp sound 'narrow'. The tone is articulated but not harsh.
Setting the DRIVE knob in its minimum position we will obtain a clean booster effect. On this mode the guitar's signal travels directly to an independent booster stage. We control the gain of the booster stage using the BOOST control. When we use this overdrive as a booster the guitar's signal is unaffected by any kind of distortion or clipping effect from the drive stage.
To get the overdrive effect we must turn up the DRIVE knob. The drive stage has a fixed gain level. The DRIVE knob controls a mixer that combines the guitar's clean signal with the saturated signal coming from the drive stage. With the DRIVE knob all the way down (boost mode) the mixer will only let the clean signal through. With the DRIVE knob all the way up it will only let the overdriven signal from the drive stage through. The intermediate settings are the result of the different possible mixes of clean and saturated signal.

I work on very small runs and custom models, building by hand no more than two or three pedals by day.

Warranty.
All ThunderTomate products are covered by a two-year warranty period. Defects than occur within this warranty period will be repaired on our premises with no charge for parts and labour.
Only the first buyer is covered by the warranty period. The warranty period doesn't include any fault derived from an incorrect use of the products or an incorrect use of the equpment associated to this products.
Returns Policy.
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it to us in its original condition within 15 days of the date you received the item and we will issue a full refund (discounting only the PayPal transaction charges).
Any items returned must be sent back prepaid.
