Toadworks Ajax Stereo Phase Inverter

ToadWorks Ajax is a multi-state device designed for summing and splitting two distinct instrument signals. In addition, Ajax  can invert the phase of both the incoming and outgoing signals. Suggested uses for Ajax are: a two-channel mixer, phase correction, multi-guitar/amp interface, stereo expander, stereo-to-mono summing node, buffered signal splitter, clean boost.

The In (1) jack is clearly labeled on the right side of the pedal. It is designed for use with 1/4" phone plugs only. This jack accepts signal from an instrument. Input to this jack will be summed with the input from In (2). No phase inversion is applied to this input.

In (2)

The In (2) jack is clearly labeled on the right side of the pedal. It is designed for use with 1/4" phone plugs only. This jack accepts signal

from an instrument. Input to this jack will be summed with the input from In (1). Phase inversion is applied to this input via the Phase toggle

switch (#6).

Out (1)

The Out (1) jack is clearly labeled on the left side of the pedal. It is designed for use with 1/4" phone plugs only. Unless phase inverted, the

output from this jack is identical to the output from Out (2) . Phase inversion is applied to this input via the large stomp switch

switch (#9). The LED will light when this switch is engaged.

Out (2)

The Out (2) jack is clearly labeled on the left side of the pedal. It is designed for use with 1/4" phone plugs only. Unless phase inverted, the

output from Out (1) is identical to this jack.

Level (1)

The Level (1) knob controls the amount of signal passed from the In (1) jack. 12 o'clock is unity gain.

Phase (2) Toggle Switch

The Phase (2) toggle switch inverts the phase of the signal coming into the In (2) jack (#2).

Level (2)

The Level (2) knob controls the amount of signal passed from the In (2) jack. 12 o'clock is unity gain.

Level (1) (2)

The Level (1) (2) knob controls the master signal level passed to both output jacks (#3 and #4) 12 o'clock is unity gain.

Phase (1) Stomp Switch

The Phase (1) stomp switch inverts the phase of the signal coming out of the Out (1) jack (#3). When this switched is engaged, the

LED will light up, at which point the output from the Out (1) jack will be phase inverted. When this switch is disengaged, the LED will shut off and the signal from both output jacks will be in-phase.

9V Battery Clip

Ajax uses a standard 9V alkaline battery. We recommend Duracell part # MX1604.

Power Supply Jack

Ajax is equipped with a 2.1mm barrel jack for use with a tip-negative 9 Volt DC REGULATED power adapter (Note: Many 9V power adapters are grossly out of spec, and the actual voltage can range anywhere from 7.5 Volts to 16 Volts.
