Oof is right. Rarer than a can of Dandelion & Burdock, me thinks! This is a 1941 Vega C-86 "Advanced Model", serial# 41088, archtop acoustic in Sunburst. According to folklore (and Archtopdotcom), this is one of the most sought-after models by pre-war acoustic & Vega collectors alike. The C-86 is the highest end C Series, and is one of the most rare models. It first appeared in their rare pre-war catalog and was not seen since. One surfaced online for sale in Natural. And that's it! The C-86 is an Adirondack Spruce top with a arched Tiger flame Maple top. The headstock inlay is made up of 18 pieces, with hand-engraved fretboard inlays, a steel reinforced Mahogany neck, a bound tortoise pickguard and gold trapeze tailpiece. The tuners have been switched out for some Art Deco lucite! She even comes with her original hardshell case!
