Fall of 1963 Candy Panel Vox AC-30 amplifier with 1964 matching extension cab, done in Bell & Hern "Stay Gold" Sparkle. These started out life your like the typical Vox's that come out of Blighty. Loved, but played hard. Gig to gig. Club to club. England, Germany, France, Italy, then back to England, then finally found their way home to Guitars West in Southern California were 100's of The Limey's amplification ended up since the early 80's. So the idea was to put some pzazz in these usually dull, awkward, colors not found in nature amps...That being said we started out by sending the head to Don Butler at Tone-Man to dial that puppy in with a full service. Which he did a magnificent job and kept it as close to specs as possible. Hey, we all need an oil change. Then we glued, screwed and tattooed the amp cabs. Which entailed hours of work from us and thanking Rob Radigan for his wonderful wood craftsmanship. Once ready for paint, we shoot over to Marty Bell's for his magnificent Vatican Gold Goddess Glitter paint job. When we get the call to pick them up we were pretty jazzed and floored we finally saw them...!!! Now our work begins. Our materials to put her back together were from all over the world and well worth the wait. Rare brown handles, rare smooth levant from England, small Vox logos as the large ones looked a bit funky, brass vents, brass screws, Fender gold straw grill cloth, black piping, gold center strips, original white piping and a new set of shoes. AC-30 tone extraordinaire with original Blue Celestians and matching extension cab with original Silver Celestians. Just give us a call if you need any questions whatsoever about this duo... BH
